CPHQ course in the UAE · online, self-paced
Quality roles in the UAE go to whoever can prove the competency.
A CPHQ course for candidates across the Emirates, taught online in English and studied around a UAE working week. This is the most competitive quality job market in the Gulf: the clinical background is common to every applicant, so the certification and demonstrable data skills are usually what separate the shortlist from the pile.
Self-paced with lifetime access — a contract change or a move between emirates does not cost you your course.

The distinction that confuses everyone
Your licence and your certification are different things.
In a country with several health authorities this is the question we are asked most. They are two separate tracks, run by different bodies, for different purposes. Neither substitutes for the other.
Track one · your health authority
Licence to practise
- →Issued by the health authority for your emirate or free zone, against your primary qualification and experience.
- →Governs whether you may work in your profession, and where.
- →Has its own assessment, documentation, renewal cycle and continuing-education requirements — all set by that authority, and all worth confirming with them rather than with us.
- →Transfers when you move emirate — which is a process, not an assumption.
Track two · NAHQ
CPHQ certification
- ✓Issued by NAHQ, internationally, against a single exam. No local authority gates it.
- ✓Evidences what you can do in quality — improvement, analytics, safety, accreditation readiness.
- ✓Registration, eligibility and renewal terms are NAHQ’s to set. Read theirs before you plan around them.
- ✓Moves with you between emirates, countries and employers unchanged — which an employer-specific certificate does not.
This page deliberately states no authority’s licensing requirements. They differ by emirate and by profession and they change; the authority that regulates you is the only source worth working from.
Job-advert decoder
What a UAE quality vacancy is actually asking for.
Quality job descriptions here read like a list of tasks. Underneath they are a list of competencies — and each one maps to a domain the exam scores. Here is the translation.
The exam scores 125 items across 7 domains. 5 of them — 98 of those items — are sitting in the job description you are applying against.
Standing out
Everyone shortlisted has the clinical background.
In a market this international, a hiring manager reads twenty CVs with similar clinical histories. Four things move you up the pile, and only one of them is the certificate.
01
Evidence, not adjectives
“Detail-oriented” is worth nothing. A named project, the measure it moved and the period the gain held is worth an interview.
02
The certification
It answers the screening question before a human reads the CV, and it is the credential most often named in quality postings across the Gulf.
03
Data fluency, demonstrated
Being able to say why you used a control chart rather than a bar chart puts you ahead of most applicants for a quality post here.
04
Accreditation scar tissue
Having been through a survey, and being able to say what went wrong and what you changed afterwards, beats any certificate on its own.
Cost
Two payments, both in US dollars.
One is ours and exact. The other is NAHQ’s, and we will not print a figure we do not set and cannot keep current.
$299
One payment, lifetime access, and future updates included. No renewal and no expiry.
- ✓Charged in USD through Stripe
- ✓7-day money back if it is not what you needed
The exam fee
Set by NAHQ in US dollars, with different rates for members and non-members. Take the current figure from their application page — fees and tiers change, and a stale number is what you would budget around.
Quote both at once
If your employer funds professional development, ask for the whole figure in one request. A request that comes back a second time for the exam fee is a request that gets declined.

FAQ
Questions from candidates in the UAE.
Is the CPHQ recognised in the UAE?
It is the internationally recognised healthcare quality certification and is widely named in quality and accreditation postings across the Emirates. Recognition by employers is not the same as a regulatory requirement — if a provider tells you a specific authority mandates it, ask them to show you the document.
Does the CPHQ affect my DHA, DOH or MOHAP licence?
They are separate tracks. Your licence is issued by the health authority for your emirate or free zone against your primary qualification; the CPHQ is issued by NAHQ against an exam and evidences what you can do in quality. Neither replaces the other. Licensing requirements differ by authority and by profession, so confirm yours with the authority itself rather than with any course provider.
Do I need approval from a UAE authority to sit the exam?
No. Registration is with NAHQ directly and no local body gates it. NAHQ's own eligibility criteria are theirs to state — read them on their site before you plan around them.
Where can I sit the exam in the UAE?
NAHQ decides how and where the exam is delivered, and the formats and locations available to you appear in their own scheduling system once you register. We publish no list of centres, because availability changes and a wrong one costs a candidate a sitting.
Will it help with quality KPI reporting roles?
Directly. Indicator reporting is what has created most of these posts, and health data analytics — measure definition, data validation, variation, benchmarking — carries 26 of the 125 scored items, the second largest share of the exam.
I may leave the UAE in a year or two. Is it still worth it?
That is an argument for doing it sooner. The credential is issued internationally and holds its value across the Gulf and in your home market, while an employer-specific or emirate-specific certificate does not travel the same way. Lifetime course access means a mid-preparation move costs you nothing.
How much does the CPHQ course cost in the UAE?
The course is $299, paid once, with lifetime access, charged in USD through Stripe. NAHQ's exam fee is separate and is set by NAHQ; we do not quote it because their fees and member tiers change, and a stale figure is what you would budget around.
How long does it take alongside a full-time role?
There are 22 lessons and about 18 hours of teaching, plus the practice on top. How long that takes depends on the hours you can protect each week and how much quality work you already do; nothing expires, so a heavy month stretches the plan rather than wasting the fee. NAHQ publishes its own preparation-time guidance, which is worth reading alongside this.
Is the course in English?
Yes. The exam is in English and preparing in it is part of preparing, which suits the UAE's working language anyway. Terminology is explained rather than assumed.

Yalla CPHQ is an independent preparation provider. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by NAHQ, DHA, DOH, MOHAP or any UAE free-zone health authority. Confirm exam eligibility, fees and scheduling with NAHQ, and licensing requirements with the authority that regulates your practice.
