About Yalla CPHQ

Healthcare quality, taught by someone who still does the work

Yalla CPHQ is an independent exam-preparation provider for healthcare quality professionals. One instructor, one library, one payment — built for people who are studying around clinical shifts rather than instead of them.

Why it exists

Most CPHQ preparation treats the exam as a vocabulary test. Learn the definitions, recognise the acronyms, sit the paper. It is a reasonable strategy for a multiple choice exam and a poor one for the job the credential is supposed to represent — and it tends not to work on the exam either, because the questions ask what you would do, not what a term means.

Yalla CPHQ was built the other way round. The teaching starts from quality practice — how a problem gets framed, how a chart gets read, what an accreditation survey actually asks of a department — and the exam becomes something you can pass because you understand the work, rather than something you pass despite not understanding it.

“I built Yalla CPHQ because I watched good clinicians memorise definitions, pass nothing, and lose their confidence. Quality is a way of thinking. Learn the thinking and the exam becomes the easy part.”

Who teaches it

Dr. Ahmed Habib

CPHQ, MD, MSc

A healthcare quality practitioner and educator who has spent his career inside the work the CPHQ examines: improvement programmes, patient-safety investigations, accreditation preparation and the analytics that decide whether any of it held.

He records every lesson in the library, answers the questions that come back, and still supervises improvement projects — which is why the teaching keeps referring to what actually happens rather than to what should.

How it works

Six decisions that shape everything else

  • Weighted to the real exam

Teaching time follows the published content outline. The two domains carrying more than 40% of the paper get the depth that share deserves, rather than equal time with the smallest.

  • One practitioner, not a panel

Every lesson comes from the same person, who still runs improvement projects. Consistency of voice matters less than consistency of judgement — you learn one way of thinking, followed all the way through.

  • Support is a person

A question about a lesson is answered by whoever recorded it. There is no ticket queue and no tier that buys you a faster reply.

  • No cohort, no expiry

Nothing drips and nothing locks. Start in March and sit the exam in November if that is what your rota allows.

  • One payment

No subscription and no upsell tier. Every future update to the library is included in what you already paid.

  • Straight about what we are

An independent preparation provider, not an official body — and we point you at NAHQ for anything only they can answer.

What we are not

Yalla CPHQ is not the certifying body. The CPHQ credential is awarded by the Healthcare Quality Certification Commission, the certifying arm of NAHQ, and they set eligibility, fees, exam content and certification policy. We are not affiliated with, sponsored by, endorsed by or accredited by either organisation, and nothing bought here registers you for the exam or counts toward the credential.

We also do not guarantee a result, and you should be sceptical of any provider who does — no preparation course controls the exam or its scoring. What we offer is teaching, practice and structure. Anything about eligibility or exam policy should be confirmed with nahq.org, and we link them directly rather than paraphrasing.

Still deciding?

Ask before you buy — whether the course fits where you are, whether you are eligible yet, or anything about an order. Every course is refundable in full for seven days, so the decision is reversible either way.
