What the CPHQ is in Saudi Arabia — and what it is not.
This is where course pages get vague, because vagueness sells. Here is the distinction, drawn as plainly as we can draw it.
What is true
Widely recognised, and it travels
- ✓The CPHQ is the internationally recognised certification in healthcare quality, awarded by NAHQ.
- ✓Quality and accreditation postings across the Kingdom routinely name an internationally recognised quality credential, and this is the one most often meant.
- ✓It is portable. Move between a cluster, a private group, another Gulf state or home, and the credential moves with you unchanged — which is not true of every local certificate.
What we will not claim
Not a licence, and not mandated
- —It is not a practice licence and does not replace SCFHS registration or classification. It is a certification in a discipline, not permission to work.
- —We will not tell you SCFHS, CBAHI or the Ministry require it. That would need documenting and we have not documented it.
- —Demand for the skills is real; a stated mandate is a different claim. Any provider making it should be asked to show you the regulation.

Find the budget before you ask
Training and development sits with a named person — usually in the quality department, academic affairs or HR. Ask which of them owns external certification, then write to that person.

Lead with the facility’s problem
Not “I would like to develop”. Instead: the next accreditation cycle, the indicators being reported upward, the gaps a surveyor would find. Certification is your proposed answer to that.

Quote the whole number once
Course plus NAHQ’s exam fee, in one line. Get the current exam fee from NAHQ before you write, because a request that comes back a second time for a fee you missed is a request that gets declined.

Where and how the exam is delivered is NAHQ’s to decide and their scheduling system is the only current list. The harder question is usually when, not where.
Check NAHQ, not a provider’s list
Formats and locations available to you appear in NAHQ’s own system when you register. We do not publish a list, because centre availability changes and a wrong one costs someone a sitting.
Around the calendar, not through it
Ramadan, Eid and Hajj season change what a study week looks like and what availability looks like. Plan so your final mock does not land in the middle of any of them.
Annual leave and travel
If you plan to sit during leave outside the Kingdom, book for the country you will actually be in that week. Rescheduling has a deadline, and discovering that late is an expensive lesson.

Questions from candidates in Saudi Arabia.
Is the CPHQ recognised in Saudi Arabia?
It is the internationally recognised healthcare quality certification and is widely valued by accredited facilities, clusters and private groups across the Kingdom. Recognition is not the same as a mandate: no provider should tell you a Saudi body requires it without showing you the regulation that says so.
Does SCFHS accept the CPHQ for classification?
SCFHS registration and professional classification are a separate process with their own criteria, and the CPHQ does not replace any part of them. Check the current requirements for your profession directly with SCFHS — their rules change and they are the only authoritative source.
Does this course carry SCFHS CPD hours?
No. It is an independent preparation course, not an SCFHS-accredited CPD activity, and we will not imply otherwise. What it prepares you for is NAHQ's exam, and the CPHQ credential you earn by passing it is what employers are asking for.
How much does the CPHQ course cost in Saudi Arabia?
The course is $299, paid once, with lifetime access, charged in USD through Stripe — so your card needs to allow international transactions. NAHQ's exam fee is separate and is set by NAHQ; we do not quote it because their fees and member tiers change, and a stale figure is what you would budget around or put in a funding request.
Where can I sit the exam in Saudi Arabia?
NAHQ decides how and where the exam is delivered, and the formats and locations available to you appear in their own scheduling system once you register. We deliberately publish no list of centres: availability changes, and a wrong one costs a candidate a sitting.
Will my employer pay for it?
Frequently, in facilities heading into an accreditation cycle. The requests that succeed are written as survey readiness rather than personal development, state the total cost once, and offer something back to the department. There is a template on this page you can adapt.
Can I study while working a demanding rota?
That is what self-paced is for — there is no live session to miss when you are covering nights. There are 22 lessons and about 18 hours of teaching, plus practice on top. Nothing expires, so a heavy month stretches the plan rather than wasting the fee.
Is the course in English?
Yes, and deliberately: the exam is in English, so preparing in it is part of preparing. Terminology is explained rather than assumed — for most candidates here the difficulty is the analytics, not the language.
