CPHQ prep course · self-paced
The CPHQ prep course that teaches the exam you actually sit.
A complete CPHQ course you can finish around hospital shifts, taught in English by a practising quality director. All 7 NAHQ domains in the order the exam scores them, with full mock exams and lifetime access for one payment of $299 — no cohort to wait for and no expiry date.
Self-paced, 22 lessons over 18 hours. Only 23% of the scored exam tests recall — the rest tests application and analysis, so the lessons are built around applying quality methods rather than memorising definitions.
One payment. No subscription, no expiry date, and future updates included.

Why capable candidates fail
Three quarters of the exam is not recall.
NAHQ publishes how its questions are built, and it is the most useful thing a candidate can know. Fewer than a quarter of the scored items ask you to remember a definition. The rest put you in a situation and ask what you would do, or hand you data and ask what it means.
People who fail rarely fail on knowledge. They fail because they studied a glossary for an exam that asks them to run a project and read a chart.
Scored item types
NAHQ selects questions to approximately these proportions. Recall tests facts; application asks you to interpret or apply information to a situation; analysis asks you to evaluate, problem-solve, or integrate several things into a judgement.
Curriculum
All 7 domains — taught in weight order.
Teaching time follows the exam’s own weighting rather than splitting evenly, so the domains carrying the most marks get the most attention. Open one to see what it covers and what it is worth.
How healthcare organisations identify problems, improve processes and measure whether the change held. The largest domain on the exam, at 27 of the 125 scored items.
22% of the scored exam. Video time follows this weighting rather than splitting evenly across domains.
What’s included
Everything, once. No tiers, no upsells.
01
Videos
The teaching. Anything with a picture in it — charts, maps, diagrams — and the reasoning spoken out loud.
02
PDFs
The reference. What you revise from in the last fortnight, when rewatching a lesson is the wrong use of an evening.
03
Mock exams
The proof. A timed paper is the only thing that tells you you are ready rather than busy.

Study guides

Honest comparison
How this differs from the alternatives.
NAHQ awards the credential and its own material is authoritative on scope. A live regional cohort gives you a room and a schedule. Here is where each fits — including where they beat us.
| Yalla CPHQ | NAHQ’s own prep | A live regional cohort | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Format | Self-paced video, with study guides and mock exams | The credentialing body's own preparation material | Live sessions on a fixed weekly schedule |
| Pace | Yours, any hour | Set by the product you buy | The cohort's, over a fixed number of weeks |
| Access length | Lifetime, no expiry | Time-limited by product | Usually ends with the cohort |
| Payment | One payment, charged in USD — your card must allow international transactions | US-dollar checkout; membership tier changes the price | Often local transfer or instalments |
| Teaching | Dr. Ahmed Habib, CPHQ, MD, MSc — one practitioner, all the way through | Written by the body that sets the exam — authoritative on scope | Varies entirely with the instructor you get |
| Best for | Working clinicians studying around a rota | Anyone who wants the source of truth on the blueprint | People who need a schedule imposed on them |

After you pay
What actually happens next.
No mystery and no waiting for a cohort to open. This is the whole sequence.
Step 01
You pay, and land on a confirmation page
Card payments are handled by Stripe and settle immediately. Bank transfer is offered at checkout too, and clears more slowly — start it earlier than you think you need to.
Step 02
Two emails arrive
An order confirmation with what you bought, and a separate message with a single-use link to set your password and activate the account. The link expires, so use it while you are still at the keyboard.
Step 03
The whole library is open
Nothing drips and nothing unlocks by week. Start with the heaviest domain rather than the first one, which is what the weighting on this page is for.
Step 04
It stays yours
One payment, no renewal and no expiry, so a heavy month at work stretches your plan rather than costing you the fee. And if it is not what you needed, the 7-day money back applies.
Pricing
One payment. Everything in it.
There is one price and one product. No tiers, no upsell to a “pro” bundle, and no subscription that renews while you are not looking.
The exam fee is separate and goes to NAHQ, not to us. They set it, it differs by location and membership tier, and their application page is where to read the current figure before you budget.
Start where the marks are.
Not sure which domain is your weakest? The free practice test is weighted the way the exam is weighted and scores you by domain, so it tells you where to begin.
FAQ
The questions people ask before enrolling.
How much does the CPHQ prep course cost?
$299, down from $490, paid once with lifetime access. It is charged in USD through Stripe, so your card needs to allow international transactions. NAHQ's exam fee is separate and set by NAHQ.
What is in the course?
22 recorded lessons and about 18 hours of teaching across all 7 scored domains, plus videos, pdfs, mock exams, study guides. Teaching time follows the exam's weighting rather than splitting evenly across domains.
How is the CPHQ exam scored?
On a scaled range of 200 to 800, with 600 to pass. A scaled score is a conversion rather than a percentage, so 600 does not mean 75% — different forms of the exam vary slightly in difficulty and the conversion accounts for that. Your report also gives the percentage you scored in each of the seven content categories.
Do I need experience or a particular degree to sit the exam?
There is no academic or experience requirement. NAHQ writes the exam for people who have been performing the tasks in its content outline for at least two years, which is guidance about who the paper suits rather than a gate. Residency in a country under US sanctions is a genuine restriction, so check NAHQ's current handbook.
Is this a live course or self-paced?
Self-paced and recorded. There is no cohort to join and no session to miss when you are covering a night shift, and nothing drips — the whole library opens as soon as you enrol.
What language is the course taught in?
English, because the exam is in English and practising in the exam's language is part of the preparation. Terminology is explained rather than assumed. The free overview video on this page is in Arabic.
What if the course is not right for me?
Work through the first two lessons. If it is not what you needed, email us inside 7 days and we refund in full.
Is this course endorsed by NAHQ?
No. Yalla CPHQ is an independent preparation provider and is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by NAHQ. NAHQ awards the credential, sets the fees and publishes the content outline; we prepare you for their exam.

The exam facts on this page — 140 questions of which 125 are scored, the three-hour limit, the 200 to 800 scaled score with 600 to pass, the absence of a formal eligibility requirement and the 23 / 57 / 20 item-type split — are as published by NAHQ in their candidate handbook and were checked in September 2026. Fees and rules change; NAHQ remains the authority on all of them.
